The Project opens a broad dialogue among volunteer sector, key stakeholders and public on important social challenge of refugee crisis, from the perspective of volunteerism and a social responsibility. The applicant and partners are directly involved in supporting refugees on the Balkan route and in the host countries.
Open questions and lessons learned from volunteers, refugees, organizers and other involved parties from accross EU will lead to upgraded standards of volunteer support programmes as well to recommendations to decision makers. Volunteer work is crucial as a supporting response in crisis also it is channel for intercultural exchange and integration. The action will be implemented in Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary, United Kingdom and Belgium. The outputs will be shared at EU level through the network of European Volunteer centres network (CEV) based in Brussels, through formal and informal networks at national levels and through intense promotion. Project partners cover large network of volunteers across Europe and their web and social media pages are highly visited and commented.
This is why we expect large impact on promotion of volunteering in general, especially promotion of solidarity in times of humanitarian crisis.Volunteers and persons in risk – migrants and refugees will be actively involved in gathering and sharing of experiences and perspectives.Initial analysis suggests lack of guidelines for volunteer services in times of crisis at EU level, so the project recommendations may indeed have high impact on topic addressed by this project reaching a wide European audience.
